Rumors of Twilight’s Robert Pattinson playing the biopic of Nirvana’s front man Kurt Cobain has been shot down by none other than Cobian’s wife Courtney Love.

“Isn’t that so stupid, who would cast him?” she told The Canadian Press during an interview. “That’s just wrong, no offense.”

Love’s comments were in response to reports that Pattinson had been signed on to play Cobain, reports that haven’t been backed up by anyone other than the tabloid that reported it.

The Sun newspaper started the rumor with a report that it was Pattinon’s “dream role” to be able to play Cobain. It goes deeper saying that Pattinson had been in “regular contact” with Love, and that Scarlett Johansson was Love’s choice to play her in the movie.

Love also said that Sting’s wife Trudie Styler, will be the producer of the biopic, and gave suggestions as to who could best play the role of Kurt Cobain. She said that The Note book’s Ryan Gosling or Wanted’s James McAvoy are her top choices.

All over the internet news sources and blogs re-reported the false news, and only Spin.com decided to contact Love’s rep Jonathan Daniel, who shot down the rumor.

“That’s an amazing story, and the first I’ve heard of any of this. They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check and include a ‘My First Photoshop’ job as a ‘mock up’ to boot!”

Well it’s about time R-Patz introduced his lover to his parents isn’t it?

Although they have never come out and said it R-Patz and KStew have more chemistry in real life than their characters – Bella and Edward – in “Twilight.”
