Robert Pattinson has signed on to star in Cosmopolis, according to Deadline.

The 24-year-old Twilight hunk will play Eric Packer, a “financial wunderkind,” in the film based on Don DeLillo’s novel of the same name.

Synopsis: Eric risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day. His deed puts him in the crosshairs for assassination in a drama that is a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis.

I have added a bunch of Appearance pics of Kristen & Robert and the 2011 People’s Choice Awards Show. Eclipse, picked up four awards, including favorite movie, surpassing nominees including The Social Network and Inception. Kristen, beat out Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston for favorite movie actress as Bella Swan.

But the film’s heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner didn’t have as much luck when it came to favorite movie actor, which was awarded to Johnny Depp for Alice in Wonderland. Robert  was beat out again in a separate category for favorite movie star under 25, which went to Zac Efron.

We’re still months away from “On The Road” hitting theaters, but Kristen Stewart’s costars in the film are already generating plenty of buzz for her performance. Garrett Hedlund, who plays Dean Moriarty in the film, has been making the rounds promoting “Tron: Legacy” and “Country Strong,” while Amy Adams, who plays Jane, has been busy supporting “The Fighter.” When MTV News caught up with both stars, they had nothing but the best things to say about KStew’s turn as Marylou in the adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic novel.

“[She is] incredible, and in this, everyone is going to get to see how hard of a worker she is, man. I mean, the devotion that she puts into her work, and her performance is going to be exposed highly in this,” Garrett gushed to interviewer Josh Horowitz.

No one has ever doubted Kristen’s work ethic, but this will definitely be the most serious role she’s had to date. A lot of critical eyes have been watching the progress of “On The Road” as it filmed in Montreal, and a well-received performance in this film could definitely up Kristen’s chances of becoming a critical darling and Oscar nominee.

Amy also had wonderful things to say about Kristen, emphasizing that “she’s awesome,” and she always knew that the “Twilight” star would put out a great performance in the film.

“I knew she had chops. I’ve seen her since ‘Panic Room.’ I thought she was fantastic. So I kind of feel like she’s grown up onscreen,” Amy said. “She was great in ‘Into the Wild.’ The girl’s got some chops. And on top of that she’s just really sweet.”

The first half of Breaking Dawn hits theaters in slightly less than a year, Nov. 18, 2011, and while that may feel like a long way away we just got our first peek at the film. The movie’s director, Bill Condon, shared this picture on Twitter showing Kristen Stewart’s hand amid feathers on Edward and Bella’s wedding night. We saw Robert and Kristen filming their bikini and shirtless honeymoon scene and other romantic bits and pieces down in Brazil earlier in the month, but now that they are back on location in Louisiana there haven’t been many photos. We’re months away from a more legitimate look at Breaking Dawn part one.
