LOS ANGELES, Calif. –

Robert Pattinson has cut his famous hair for his latest film, “Water For Elephants” – and the star says he likes the shorter ‘do so much, he may keep it for “Breaking Dawn.”

“I’m thinking Edward might have a little bit of a haircut in ‘Breaking Dawn,’” he laughed with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” junket in LA on Saturday. “I feel so much better. You feel much more agile.”

New hair or not, he may have the chance to show off that agility in the two-part finale to the series, “Breaking Dawn,” in which Edward and Bella (Kristen Stewart) finally marry and consummate their relationship.

“I am looking forward to the pillow-biting scene. I thought that was so funny,” Rob said of the “Breaking Dawn” novel’s Bella/Edward heat of passion moment. “I’m just like, I have all the random things to do. Really? He bites the pillow.”

While Rob and Kristen can look forward to getting physical in “Breaking Dawn,” in “Eclipse” – due June 30 – it’s Taylor Lautner who has a nude scene, but not a fun one.

“He was outside and it was freezing and it was raining as well,” Rob said, explaining that he teased his on-screen romantic rival. “And he sat there like, trembling on the floor. I had my one line and I just kind of keep saying, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot what it was again, what was it?’”

Although Robert’s serious on screen, the British star’s quite the funnyman off camera – but, he said, it’d be “too nerve-wracking” to try his comedy as a potential “Saturday Night Live” host.

“I think that’s such a risk,” he said. “I went on [‘The Daily Show’] and I was thinking like, ‘Oh, I’ll try to be like, funny and stuff.’ I just realized it’s impossible to be a comedian. You gotta be a genius to able to think of that stuff.”

11:33 a.m. PT Well, we’ve covered Mr. Taylor Lauter. We’ve covered Ms. Kristen Stewart. Up next? Well, that would be Mr. Robert Pattinson. Y’all probably would want some live-blogging about him, right?

11:38 a.m. No? Nobody wants Robert Pattinson? Oh well.

11:38 a.m. I’m KIDDING! Rob live-blogging after the break…

11:39 a.m. Or after he shows up. We have a little break here…

11:46 a.m. Still waiting on Mr. Pattinson. Be patient, readers. As soon as he arrives, my fingers will be flying. To keep you entertained, a little tidbit: Kristen Stewart bites her lip less in this movie. I wonder if it was a directing choice or if she’s suddenly become really self-conscious. OK. Back to waiting.

11:53 a.m. Enter Robert Pattinson. This is easily the best coifed I’ve ever seen him at one of these events.

11:54 a.m. “I had to learn how to run properly,” Rob says of new skills garnered for this movie. “I spent a lot of time on a giant treadmill, like one of those wheels mice run around in.”

11:54 a.m. “I guess probably fear of failure and inadequacy complex,” Rob says in response to the “What drives you?” question. And regarding what he actually drives, he says “rental cars.”

11:55 a.m. “When he finds one thing to hold onto, that’s where the possessiveness comes from,” Rob says, explaining why Edward holds onto Bella so closely, noting that the character is becoming more integrated into the real world. He adds, ”Hopefully by the end of ‘Breaking Dawn,’ he’ll be like a normal 17-year-old guy, except very pale.”

11:56 a.m. Rob says he doesn’t complete with other guys for another guy’s girl. “I would never be in Jacob’s position,” he says.

11:57 a.m. “It was good, because I never do anything with anyone else besides Kristen,” Rob says of getting to work with Taylor and explore the character’s “petty emotions” and the bigger scale of emotion. He describes Taylor as “really good.” He appreciates just having the other guy’s presence in his scenes, which allows the character to recognize that it’s more than just Edward-Bella.

11:58 a.m. Kids, Robert Pattinson believes we all have souls.

11:59 a.m. He doesn’t like being part of triangles, but he says “Yeah, probably” when asked if he’d ever gotten in a fight about a woman. “I don’t know it it was about love,” he adds. “It was more about pride.”

12:00 p.m. Rob says that on “Twilight,” there was a lot of behind-the-scenes head-butting to find the themes and feeling of the movie. Chris Weitz came in determined to follow through and be consistent to the first movie. And then David Slade came in and was determined to do everything different.

12:01 p.m. What was David Slade’s biggest change? “I guess he was really fighting to make it not so… what’s the word… solemn, I guess?” Rob says Slade wanted to speed things up, both within the scenes and for the characters.

12:02 p.m. “I’ve always been just playing around,” Rob says, regarding whether he’s had time to make music since the movies began. He says he just saw “Twilight” on TV for the first time a few days ago and he found it bizarre when his song came on. “It really shows how none of us thought it would be so massive,” Rob says, regarding how he got a song on the soundtrack at all.

12:03 p.m. More on the “I’m hotter line.” He says, “There’s nothing you can say, it’s like, ‘Well yeah. You are,’” Rob jokes. He’s appreciative of Taylor’s many funny/catchphrase-type lines. He jokes about Taylor’s time in the gray “wolf” suit Taylor has to wear.

12:05 p.m. Does Rob read his own fan sites? Does he have favorites? “It’s kind of incredible the information they get so quickly. Some of them I check them just to see what my schedule is. I go to them on weekends when I can’t get through to my agency,” he cracks.

12:06 p.m. He respects that “Twilight” is a fanbase that’s about community and that that community had built up online.

12:06 p.m. Does he worry that Edward will always domination his career. “I don’t know. I hope not. I don’t know. Maybe it will be a good thing.”

12:07 p.m. Rob jokes that his mind and Kirsten’s work differently when it comes to preparation. He tries to be more cerebral and she tries to feel things. “I don’t feel confident unless I know more about the reason why I’m doing things,” Rob says, though he says he does that in-depth approach more for this role than any others.

12:08 p.m. Future projects talk… His character in “Bel Ami” is talentless, but he has a sense of entitlement. Apparently he seduces many people and screws over high society. “He’s a completely amore, evil character. It’s a story about how the s***s can actually win sometimes.”

12:10 p.m. I’ll save you the plot description of “Water For Elephants.” You can read the book. I should read the book. I hear it’s a good book.

12:11 p.m. What was it like for Rob to fight a girl? “One of the producers said to me, ‘You looked so enthusiastic in that fight scene,’” Rob says, calling Bryce Dallas Howard “the gentlest person.” He adds, “Most of the really vicious stuff I did with a stunt double.” He tells us that most of what he did with Bryce was “rolling around and grabbing on to each other.”

12:13 p.m. Now Rob gets the Rob/Kristen question. “Do I understand the fantasy of it? No, not really. People like the stories. My basic conclusion is that they want everything to be about ‘Twilight,’ I guess…” He pauses for a while after promising the truth. Then? No answer. I’m shocked.

12:14 p.m. Why should people go see this movie? “Why not?” He thinks for a bit. “It’s grown so big that it’s become part of the cultural environment, unless I’m just imagining it,” he thinks. He pauses, “I guess if you don’t know what the story’s about by now, you’ve probably never been to the cinema, so why not just go to the cinema for once?” On a more serious level, he praises the movie for its accessibility. He admits that after rewatching “Twilight” the other day, he realizes that that movie might have been a little bit less accessible.

12:15 p.m. Rob hasn’t read “Breaking Dawn” yet. “I’ve just heard brief rumors about what happens in the story,” he says.

12:16 p.m. He says the contact lenses are what lets him get into the spirit of Edward. The contacts are uncomfortable and he says, “That’s what creates the pouting, brooding character.”

12:17 p.m. “I like the idea of Edward having a shaved head in the last one,” Rob says. He has a very different haircut now and he figures Edward may have just gotten a haircut.

12:18 p.m. “I found out about ‘Breaking Dawn’ being two films when the press release came out,” Rob says. Is he kidding, or is Kristen just more in-the-loop? He’s met once with Bill Condon, but not in detail. He loves “Gods and Monsters.” He doesn’t know where they’re shooting or anything.

12:19 p.m. Was it hard for Rob and Taylor to keep straight faces during The Tent scene? That scene was, apparently, reshot. The first time, he apparently got claustrophobic and antsy and Kirsten sensed his agitation and tried to crack him up to loosen him up. “We got like literally one take where we got it right,” Rob recalls.

12:21 p.m. That’s it for Rob. Up next? A whole lot of Cullens…

11:01 a.m. PT As I’ve already mentioned, Summit has allowed for video recording at the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” press conferences. And as I’ve already said, I, alas, do not have a video camera. What I *do* have is fast-ish fingers and a [currently] reliable Internet connection. So follow along as I live-blog today’s various press conferences. Taylor Lautner was first. Up second… Kristen Stewart, after the break.

11:03 a.m. PT We’re gettin’ stoked, but no K-Stew yet…

11:05 a.m. Kristen Stewart says she drives a Toyota Tacoma and also, sometimes, a Mini-Cooper, “Though I feel a little too flashy in that.”

11:05 a.m. “If I’m doing something that makes me happy and I’m not lying to anybody,” Kristen says regarding what drives her. “I have a lot of ambitions, but for the next few years, I just want to be an actor.

11:06 a.m. Is the saga taking over her life? “This is a unique situation,” she says, calling it “lucky” and a “serious indulgence.” She says, “This is obviously the one role that has put me in this epic position, but it’s just another movie,” saying that “I really don’t think about my career in terms of planning it out and what this does for me. This was just a part I really wanted to play and I was lucky to play it for a long time.”

11:08 a.m. “What’s cool is that things change,” Kristen says, regarding the major choices that Bella makes in this movie. “As soon as she sees him in the first one, it’s done. But it’s hard for her to get to the point where everyone will accept that,” she says of the Edward/Jacob choice.

11:10 a.m. “I just stand behind people who are stronger than me for the entire movie,” Kristen says of the action responsibilities in this movie. She says that her hardest scene was the one where she got to kiss Jacob for the first time, but not for physical reasons. “It was a different Bella,” she says, adding, “And I was nervous as hell about it.” She calls The Kiss, “a mistake” that Bella makes.

11:10 a.m. “I think if you took all of the mythical aspects away from the story, it would still stand as a really strong, interesting thing to be a part of,” Kristen insists. “I don’t think it’s a big phenomenon because of the vampire mythical aspect,” she insists, saying the appeal is about the strength of the characters and the choices she makes, though she acknowledges the vampire stuff makes it “cooler.”

11:12 a.m. As I tweeted last night, “Eclipse” features more close-ups than any previous movie. “I didn’t do anything differently,” Kristen insists, saying that working with somebody different on each movie has been cool, because it requires you to rethink the basic ideas, rather than just coasting along. “He meets Bella through me,” Kristen says of working with David Slade and introducing him to the “Twilight” world.

11:13 a.m. Kristen admits she feels sad about losing things from the book, but she’s relieved that “Breaking Dawn” is going to be two movies, meaning fewer cuts. She gushes,  ”I can’t wait to see Renesme. I can’t wait to have a kid and get married.”

11:14 a.m. “All of the things that annoy me about her are things that I love about her,” Kristen says, regarding her favorite and least favorite Bella traits. “My favorite thing about her is that she screws up and doesn’t care,” Kristen says.

11:15 a.m. “I knew everything from the word ‘go.’ I’m really mature that way,” Kristen cracks when asked if she ever had a birds-and-the-bees conversation with her own father. It’s always good when she makes jokes.

11:16 a.m. “Do I believe in marriage? Yeah, sure. Whatever you want to do,” Kristen says.

11:17 a.m. “That scene is eternal and I have nothing really to do in it,” Kristen says of her role in The Tent scene. She had to play “sleep.” She adds, “I just remember it being really hot.” She’s referring to actual warmth, not to being in a tent between Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, though…

11:18 a.m. Kirsten is listing her favorite designers. My eyes are glazing. I’ll snap out of it in a second.

11:19 a.m. Does Kristen rush into things head-on like Bella? Or does she think more. “I do what I feel and I really don’t think about what it’s going to do afterwards,” she says of her work choices. “I’m kind of a control freak,” she adds. So apparently she’s a bit like Bella and then a bit not.

11:20 a.m. Are Edward and Jacob actually good romantic choices? “None of our characters are perfect. They are all so crazy and messed up and that’s why they go so well together,” she says. She admits that if she were a friend of Bella’s, she might be warning Bella to watch out for both Jacob *and* Edward.

11:21 a.m. She’s over-the-moon about doing “On the Road,” which was a favorite book of hers. She starts a four-week Beatnik Boot Camp in July in preparation for shooting. She notes that a four-week preparation process is unheard of. She’s noticeably excited for this one, which will be directed by Walter Salles.

11:23 a.m. “It’s hard to take details of your personal life and apply them to a scene,” Kristen says, asking if she can relate to certain scenes. She’s referring specifically to The Tent scene, again. “I wish it wasn’t as hot,” she adds again. Once again, warmth.

11:23 a.m. Kristen suspects “Breaking Dawn” will be PG-13, but admits she has no idea.

11:24 a.m. “For somebody who hasn’t [seen the other movies], I do feel like these movies sort of stand alone. There’s a lot of backstory, so you don’t need to see the other ones to see this,” Kristen says. She promises it has “way more action.” She also calls it “more dynamic.”

11:25 a.m. The “Breaking Dawn” shoot is going to be six months, starting in October, Kristen says. She says she’s known that it was going to be two movies “forever” and she admits it’s been hard to keep that “secret.”

11:26 a.m. Uh-oh. A personal question for Kristen about her relationship with Rob and speculation surrounding it. She has no answer and just says that speculation will probably continue.

11:27 a.m. “I really can’t wait to get into that. I’ve been on the outskirts of what it would be like to play one of them,” Kristen says, regarding getting to tap into her vampire side for “Breaking Dawn,” adding, “She’s going to be the coolest vampire of any of them.” She looks forward to charting the full character change in Bella from the first movie through to the end of “Breaking Dawn.”

11:28 a.m. Sigh. Somebody ask Kristen to compare kissing Dakota Fanning and Taylor. She says she preferred Dakota, but she’s obviously just trying to get on to the next question.

11:30 a.m. Yay! Kind words for Billy Burke, one of the franchise’s most underrated pieces. She’s all praise for her movie father. He has a couple great scenes in “Eclipse.”

11:31 a.m. Kristen emphasizes that people who call Bella a weak, codependent girl aren’t reading her correctly. She’s learning. She’s dealing with things. She’s making mistakes and gaining from them and she’s becoming more sure in what she wants.

11:31 a.m. That’s it for Kristen..

Tending to his all-important business matters, Robert Pattinson was spotted out for a meeting in Beverly Hills on Friday (June 11).

Getting a break from his “Water for Elephants” filming duties, the Edward Cullen stud strolled past paparazzi as he gears up for the Twilight convention this weekend.

Speaking of “Twilight,” it was just recently announced that “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two films.

Rob told press, “I think it will be interesting… I’m curious to see what it’ll look like. We don’t procrastinate any longer. Bella telling me, ‘I want you to turn me’ and me going, ‘No, no, no.’ She becomes a vampire in this movie. We get married and sleep together.”

“I’m wondering how they will be able to translate this on screen. We’ll end up with an R-rated movie. Can you imagine if we decided to go in and turn Twilight into a hardcore saga for adults with sex scenes and everything? I haven’t read the script yet, but I’m sure it’ll be good.”
