The Twilight hunk recently had a haircut for a new movie role but according to MTV some of the ends he had cut off have gone missing from the salon he went to.

Now he is allegedly worried that they could be auctioned off.

A source told MTV: ‘Robert has had his hair cut short for a movie role but his discarded hair has gone missing.’

‘Someone collected it and Rob is concerned it will end up in some tacky auction. It’s probably about the most valuable hair in showbiz!’

R-Pattz had his haircut for upcoming film Water For Elephants in which he is starring opposite Reese Witherspoon.

His floppy hair was his trademark and won him a horde of female admirers.

Yesterday though, he joked on the Ellen DeGeneres show that he had it chopped off because he had a ‘terrible infestation of nits.’

Asked by Ellen DeGeneres if he’s shy – and thus prefers acting to talking about acting – the Twilight heartthrob, 24, replies: “I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you’re saying. I’ve always had a problem actually thinking before I open my mouth.”

In the interview, airing Wednesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Pattinson also explains his new, shorter haircut. “It’s three days old,” he says. “I got a terrible infestation of nits and I had to shave it all off.”

“No you did not. Don’t start that rumor,” Ellen says.

Hollywood’s latest heartthrob Robert Pattinson is facing a grave allegation from his Twilight co-star Ashley Greene – the actress has said the British star doesn’t understand women.
