Robert Pattinson was recently honored by Time magazine as one of its 100 Most Influential people. Chris Weitz, director of Twilight New Moon, was chosen to share a few words on Pattinson:

“Rob, 23, is a reserved, bookish sort of specimen, a guy who’d rather spend the night at the corner table in the pub with friends — a bit of a weirdo, frankly, in the best sense.”

He adds, “And that important things, beyond the veil of Hollywood, occupy his time too — music, conversation, ideas, a sense of the absurd. Which, maybe, explains why he never gets to my e-mails.”

Ouch! I’d say Chris Weitz is just throwing out some backhanded compliments here. He calls him a “weirdo”, but passes it off as a good thing. Then he tells us that Robert Pattinson is ignoring him. Couldn’t he have called him a “really nice guy” and leave it at that?

The Time feature doesn’t change my perception of Robert Pattinson – he still seems like a cool guy to me – but it does lead me to believe Chris Weitz might be slightly jealous of the actor Keep in mind, Weitz did not return to direct the Eclipse movie.

Back in February, we told you about that “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson would receive his own comic book biography, following on the heels of such notable pop-culture celebrities as Lady GaGa, “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling, Michael Jackson, and even his “Twilight” co-star, Kristen Stewart.

Hitting shelves at the end of May, “Fame: Robert Pattinson” is the latest in Bluewater Productions’ popular line of bio-comics. The 32-page comic promises to “trace Pattinson’s career from his first performance in Tess of the D’Urbervilles at London’s Barnes Theatre to his star turn in the Twilight movies,” and features a script by Kim Sherman and interior art by Nathaniel Ooten.

Bluewater has provided Splash Page readers with an exclusive, six-page preview of the “Fame: Robert Pattinson” comic, as well as your first look at a brand new cover for the issue.

“Fame: Robert Pattinson” hits shelves May 26, but Bluewater has advised calling comic shops ahead of time to order your copy. It will also be available for order on Amazon.com.

Kristen Stewart had her passport in hand today when she touched down at the airport in NYC. She was on the go again after traveling Tuesday to Vancouver, where she joined her Eclipse costars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson for reshoots on their film. Robert and Taylor also left Canada recently, but the boys headed to LA instead of the Big Apple. We’ll see Robert and Kristen together soon enough for their big upcoming interview on Oprah, which is just one of the May events to get excited about. There are only two months to go until we can see the trio up on the big screen, but Rob, Kristen, Taylor and their many costars will be busy with premieres and photo ops well before the big day arrives.

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner arrived back at LAX last night without Kristen Stewart after the trio spent time up in Vancouver working on reshoots for Eclipse. We were just treated to two new stills from their movie, and now it’s time for Robert, Taylor and Kristen to start gearing up for its June 30 release. Rob and Kristen’s upcoming interview on Oprah is one of the big May events you guys are most excited about — in the meantime, test your knowledge on the Twilight series with our Eclipse or New Moon game!

Fans of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have a chance to see them in person on the Ellen Degeneres Show on May 18th. Well, the taping is on May 18th, if you are lucky enough to get tickets to the taping in Los Angeles. The actual episode will air on May 19th.

This will be Robert Pattinson’s third visit to see Ellen and is part of the promotional tour for the ‘Twilight Saga Eclipse’ movie release. ‘Eclipse’ will premiere in June 24th at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood and will open in theaters on June 30th. Both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be at the premiere as well.
