Sporting new long hair extensions, Kristen Stewart holds onto a fake diploma as she films the graduation scene in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in Vancouver on Friday afternoon (August 28).
The 19-year-old actress was joined by her on-screen dad Billy Burke, who tweeted late last night: “Just got to hotel in Vancouver. Start tmorow early. Someone gets a cap and gown. G’nite for now.”

Enjoying a relaxing evening out on the town to kick off the weekend, the stars of “Eclipse” were spotted grabbing a bite to eat in Vancouver on Friday (August 28).
With Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene leading the way, the duo joined Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz at La Bodega Restaurante & Tapa Bar in the city’s Gastown neighborhood.
As for their current “Eclipse” project, MTV reports tell of the third installment: “Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.”
With David Slade helming the director duties, the film has several new additions from the previous two movies in the saga, with Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria, Xavier Samuel as Riley, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Maria, Jack Huston as Royce King, Julia Jones as Leah, BooBoo Stewart as Seth, and Jodelle Ferland as Bree.

Emile Hirsch stays cool with Into The Wild co-star Kristen Stewart. He jump-started her career by recommending her to Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke.
“I was gushing about her,” he says. “I think she’s so talented and so perfect.”
He continues, “She’s a great conversationalist, very inquisitive. She’s got a little bit of an edge, too, though, so she’s not a pushover. She’s strong and cool. She’s beautiful, she’s smart, and she’s emotional, too.”

She might have ousted Miley Cyrus from her mystifying position as The World’s Most Famous Teenage Girl but Twilight star Kristen Stewart, 19, is in denial. “People don’t really recognise me,” she smiles, knowing it sounds unhinged. “I think I just look different in person or something. I’m also not very approachable.” She laughs hard and knowingly. Take the outfit she wore to this month’s Teen Choice Awards (where she won Best Actress Drama for Twilight): a Rock & Republic dress, the skirt section of which comprised only silver spikes. It didn’t take an expert to deduce the message: “Don’t stand so close to me!”
Stewart has already earned a reputation in the media for being difficult, but it seems a rather uncharitable label. In my three meetings with her, she has been fidgety, yes, uncomfortable, check, awkward, always, but never rude, dismissive or arrogant.
“I do feel that nowadays everyone perceives you the same way,” she says, pondering a Facebook/Twitter age in which she does not participate. “I prefer something I can touch! But now everybody knows everything about you. Even your parents have to know where you are because of course you have a cellphone. They can always reach you. You can’t even have a private life away from your family, it’s like everything is very hands-on.”
Her long-sleeved black shirt and dark, skinny jeans seem designed to attract minimal attention rather than fashion points. “I just saw this on a rail.” She has accessorised with her own stuff – a black leather wristband, rings on half her fingers and a vintage men’s watch. “Fashion isn’t something I think about a whole lot and it’s such a large area of the media. It’s weird.”
Greg Mottola, best-known for directing 2007’s Superbad, wrote and directed Stewart’s new film, Adventureland, a paean to his own teenage years and one in particular, the summer of 1987, when he worked at a creaky old amusement park. Stewart is the outwardly confident, inwardly tormented teenager Em who forms an unlikely relationship with Jesse Eisenberg’s James. Mottola says the girl in his story “needed to be complicated and truly conflicted. We needed an actress who can convey a really believable sense of strength. I knew with Kristen that character wouldn’t just be a brat.
Ask her about her approximation of an Eighties teenager in Adventureland (she was born in 1990) and she is quick with a response which might look snotty in print but is not delivered that way. “Well, I’ve never met a terribly introverted damaged girl at a theme park in the Eighties. But I could imagine what it’d be like to not like yourself very much and not have a mum and dad to reassure you and sort of be kicking it alone. To feel like you’re sort of smarter than everybody but no one gets it.”
Hollywood does get her and doesn’tbother that Stewart’s awards to date have been voted for by Twilight-obsessed teens and tweens. Variety’s review of Adventureland mused “Stewart impresses again” while the Los Angeles Times termed her performance “equally good as the ethereal Bella in Twilight”. Revered American film critic Roger Ebert noted with a certain gravitas: “Here is an actress ready to do important things.”
Certainly Stewart likes the choices afforded her by Twilight and is too smart to complain about any downside. “It’s easier now to do things I really like, like an independent movie that nobody sees. Now it’ll be: ‘Oh, let’s go see Bella in this stripper movie!’ It’ll be crazy.” She laughs hard, like she’s loving it. The “stripper movie” in question –Welcome to the Rileys, starring The Sopranos’ James Gandolfini and last year’s surprise Best Actress Academy Award nominee Melissa Leo – is one she terms the “most fruitful life-changing movie experience I’ve ever had. It was the hardest subject-matter. I play a very broken young girl working in a strip club.”
In another film of hers awaiting release, The Cake Eaters, her character has Friedreich’s ataxia. “It’s a total deterioration of your muscle control, a very debilitating disease. She’s just about to be in a wheelchair and is fighting for that last bit of independence from her mother. It’s an optimistic, triumphant story.” And next year she will star as Joan Jett in Runaways, based on rock icon Jett’s teen girl group.
Stewart started acting at nine and insists there was “never a grand plan”, either to pursue a film career (her parents are both in the business) or to manage it once begun. Her Australian mother Jules is a script supervisor preparing to direct her first film K-11 (starring Stewart), her father John a TV producer. When a talent scout spotted Stewart in her school’s Christmas play, her parents grimaced.
“They said, ‘We don’t want to be stage-mums’,” recalls their daughter with a smirk. Her father was particularly dispirited at the prospect. “He was a stage manager then and was like, ‘oh my God, I don’t want my kid doing this’.”
Their contrary pre-teen was having none of it. “My parents were reluctant and I think I just remembered thinking: ‘Actually that might be really cool. I might want to go on a few auditions. I might work.’” She auditioned relentlessly for a year without booking a single job. “It took a really long time until I was totally over it and then came my last audition. I went to it and I didn’t even want to. My mum said: ‘Well, this is the last one. You don’t have to go to any more.’ And that was the first movie I got.”
The Safety of Objects, released in 2001, starred a veritable Who’s Who of leading ladies sure to make an enormous impression on a wide-eyed nine-year-old, including Glenn Close and Patricia Clarkson, who played her mother. The following year Stewart won the role of Jodie Foster’s daughter in Panic Room, an experience which cemented her belief she was doing the right thing.
“I think being 10 years old on one of my first movies and spending a month on it with Jodie Foster had an enormous effect on the way I work, probably unbeknownst to me at the time. At least in retrospect, I noticed it. Jodie Foster is the only one who totally shines out in my mind who really taught me a lot.”
When she was 12, and working regularly, Stewart left school to be homeschooled by her mother. “I loved it. Independent study is for me.” She worked consistently throughout her teens in films from gritty independents like 2004’s Undertow opposite Jamie Bell, the Jon Favreau-directed comedy Zathura: A Space Adventure, horror film The Messengers and then 2007’s Into The Wild, Sean Penn’s mellifluous film version of Jon Krakauer’s profound book about Christopher McCandless.
On film sets now, Stewart – like Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson – is delivered from take to take under a gigantic golf umbrella to deter paparazzi and fans alike. The call-sheet from those sets, the one delivered daily to the cast and crew employed on a film, lists her under a pseudonym. And she cannot set foot in public, particularly with Pattinson, without the event being disseminated in its entirety from teen fan-sites to snarky grown-up publications.
Do she and Pattinson ever compare notes on the Twilight phenomenon? “The funny thing is we haven’t really talked about it. Although we can commiserate and be like, ‘ugh, it’s crazy’.”
The second Twilight film, New Moon, is released in November, and Stewart is excited that it will be “more tragic”. But mostly, she is excited at her character’s progression. “Over the course of these four movies Bella has to change. I’m not ruining it for anybody in saying that she and Edward end up together. In the first one he’s very much a man and she’s very much a child so she needs to become a more formidable partner. We’re working on that.”
The evolution of Kristen Stewart is also a formidable prospect.

Kicking off another work day, Robert Pattinson was spotted arriving at the set of “Eclipse” earlier today (August 27) in Vancouver, Canada.
The “New Moon” stud looked a bit weary of being seen, as he kept a low profile as he pulled up, accompanied by a couple of bodyguards.
Earlier this summer, Robert experienced an overwhelming amount of fan obsession while working on “Remember Me” in New York City, and it seems that he’s taken measures to avoid another such incident.
And pretty soon, Pattinson and the rest of his “Twilight” peeps will be gearing up to promote “New Moon,” due out November 20th.

This Batman-style T-shirt Robert Pattinson is sporting for the cover of Premiere magazine suits him quite well, I have to say. In keeping with Rob’s reluctant heartthrob image is this tough-guy leather jacket and his tousled hair.
The Twilight star chatted with the French version of the magazine, revealing that these days, the only place he can get away from the paparazzi and wild fans is on a movie set.
In addition, here’s a sneak peek at scenes from New Moon from People magazine. Director Chris Weitz confessed to the magazine that Dakota Fanning was happy to have a role she could sink her teeth into.
“I think she wanted to play an evil character for once. She’s always playing avery nice girl, and she is a very nice girl. There’s no question that she is very strange and spooky in this movie,” Weitz explains. To be honest, I’ve always found her strange and spooky–I think that’s part of her charm.
Robert Pattinson is on the cover of the French version of Premiere magazine, also scans from scenes of New Moon in People magazine.
Jack Huston arrived yesterday. Smarmy looking dude. I guess that’s the point? Huston is playing Royce King. If memory serves he was the rich dude who raped Rosalie… ?
And Justin Chon was spotted out and about Vancouver, much better with shorter hair.
Meanwhile Christian Serratos couldn’t resist the puppy. Who could resist that Westie puppy????!!!! Apparently his name is “Bolt”. Bolt must smell good. All puppies smell good. Marcus used to smell like cedar flakes. There’s a spot on the top of his head that has retained it but otherwise, he reeks of dog stank that only a father could love.
Sorry to digress…
Also attached – Peter Facinelli returning to Vancouver. He was approached for a favour at the airport. A huge fan of his could not make it there in time to see him and get his autograph, so he told her friend he’d talk to her on the phone. They chatted for 5 minutes.
And finally…
The main stars have been hard at work this week. David Slade tweeted on Monday that he shot with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and I can tell you exclusively that Kristen has also been working with Taylor Lautner this week. “Bella” goes on a piggyback run with “Jacob” and they run through the forest. She also drops blood everywhere, and at some point she punches him in the face after he kisses her.
And for the Twi-Hards, Slade’s Tweet referred to scenes between Stewart and Pattinson that took place in the “meadow”. My source tell me that they talk about getting married, they roll around a little, and they agree on a wedding date.
Calling November’s “New Moon” the one “Twilight” novel that “intimidated” her, Kristen Stewart knows that millions of fans will see the film in November to watch her make googly eyes at Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. But the most pleasant surprise of the sequel, she insists, will be watching the intense acting that the franchise stars had to employ to navigate Stephenie Meyer’s complex love triangle.
In this exclusive interview, Kristen and Taylor talk to MTV about the Bella/Jacob relationship, some new scenes that were added to the script and the intense days on set that nearly “killed” KStew.
MTV: Kristen, in your opinion, how is the relationship between Bella and Jacob in “New Moon” different than the one between Edward and Bella in “Twilight”?
Kristen Stewart: It’s such a different relationship; it’s like entirely original.
MTV: It seems much more playful.
Stewart: Yeah, exactly. They’re light; they actually have fun with each other. Edward and Bella are always so strange, you know?
Taylor Lautner: It’s always so tense.
Stewart: And only he can bring her out of that rut. Like, she literally is going to die; she’s going to stop eating and be done. And the only thing that brings her out of it is this lightness [Jacob] brings.
MTV: What is one of the main things you’re eager for us to see when “New Moon” hits theaters in November?
Lautner: I think the biggest thing you learn is that I disappear for a while, and she starts going through a separate depression. You go into a depression — would you call it that? — when I leave.
Stewart: Oh my God, yeah.
Lautner: Then she comes back to discover that I’m a werewolf, so that’s the big boom. Yeah, I get to transform into a werewolf a couple times, which is awesome.
MTV: What was the stunt work like in those scenes?
Lautner: Well, Jacob’s thing is he actually can transform in midair. So I got to do these really cool stunts where I got to actually run and then they’d hook me up on wires and I’d jump up in the air and then I’d come to a jolting stop and have to hang there for a bit. That’s what you saw in the trailer, actually. That was a lot of fun. I get to do a lot of cool stunts in this one.
Stewart: That cute, little, fuzzy wolf.
MTV: He is very huggable. Tell us about one scene that you read either in Stephenie Meyer’s book or in Melissa Rosenberg’s screenplay that you were like, “Man, that’s going to be tough to pull off,” and tell us how you were able to figure it out.
Stewart: “New Moon” is riddled with all of that. I think it’s the one book in the series that I was intimidated by — in a good way. That’s the best feeling to start a movie with. But probably, my favorite line in the book is when I have to say to [Jacob], “It’s him; it’s always been him!” Like, I have to say that. Yeah, it killed me, it killed me.
MTV: It was a tough day to shoot?
Stewart: Yeah, and just like everything in our movie, it’s such a heightened version of reality. It’s like, people don’t just break up [in the "Twilight" films] — they break up and it literally kills you. It’s not like you just say, “Oh, I’m really depressed and crying.” Everything is supposed to be a fantasy version of that. So I always had a really hard time figuring out, “Am I doing enough? Do I look like I’m going to die?”
MTV: Yeah, it would be tough to be the most dramatic person in the world, but without being cheesy. And Taylor?
Lautner: ["New Moon"] is very complicated. There’s a lot of heartbreak, there’s a lot of things going on. Edward leaves at the beginning, she goes into this depression, I come to try and bring her out of it. Then I go through my own issues, and then she leaves me. It’s all over the place, and there’s a lot going on, and there’s many of those scenes that you described.
MTV: Which was your favorite to shoot?
Lautner: My favorite one was — well, we call it the breakup scene — but it’s the scene right after she sees me shirtless and I’ve cut off my hair, all different for the first time. I have to tell her that we can’t be friends anymore.
Stewart: He attempts to break up with me — but it doesn’t work out.

1. Robert Pattinson
Fans have been petitioning for nearly a year to have the dashing Brit take the “SNL” stage. Though Lorne nixed the idea for last season, he did tell OK! magazine that he’d be open to having the “New Moon” star on the upcoming season. Paging Kristen Stewart: we’d also love to see you cameo!

Popsugar actually asked this:
Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard filmed a passionate kissing scene for Eclipse last week before taking a walk around Vancouver with Bryce’s family this weekend. Both actors are newbies to the Twilight saga, and Xavier’s tousled hair and attractive looks have people comparing him to the most popular vampire, Robert Pattinson. So tell us who you think is hotter — Xavier or Rob?
